Discovery Notes | Sample was taken beneath a bush, at the midpoint of the bush to the right of the entrance to the Little Chapel at Winthrop University. Sample was dark soil with lots of roots, tough to dig through. Dew present on surface grass. Ambient temperature was 25°C, and the ambient humidity was 76% with a dew point at 20.5°C. |
Naming Notes | Gucag (gouh'gag) in Gaelic means "little bud" or "little germ". Plaques of the bacteriophage appeared incredibly small in stages of early growth. |
