Discovery NotesThe soil sample was obtained in an area with very little grass, little to no bushes or trees around. In addition, the soil was mostly dry, not very muddy.
Naming NotesWe chose the name Hamp because this particular soil sample was found outside one of the dining halls here at UMass that students refer to as Hamp (Hampshire dining commons).
