Discovery NotesHyacinth was isolated from dry soil containing mulch that was collected in the Pittsburgh area.
Naming NotesHyacinth was named after my cat Darcy. Her original name at the shelter I adopted her from was Hyacinth. The flower Hyacinth represents playfulness and a sporty attitude which is how I would describe Darcy's demeanor.
