Discovery NotesThis phage was isolated from enriched river water. For enriched isolation, ~40 ml of water was collected from the St. Lawrence River, specifically Lake St. Louis. The river was greenish brown and had some moss and foam. On the day of sample collection, it was 20 C, sunny and windy with 62% humidity and a 4 on the UV index. The water sample itself contained a few small pieces of organic debris such as grass and twigs.
Naming NotesThis whimsical name was suggested by my friend who combined my first name with the name of a large American clothing company founded in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
