Discovery Notes | The sample was taken on 1/9/17 outside of the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning in a bed of dirt sourounding a large tree. The temperature was 28 degrees F. The soil was very dry and dusty. |
Naming Notes | The name "Katedra" is polish for cathedral. I got my soil sample that contained phage Katedra from outside of the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh |

Plaque Notes | Katedra presents in 2 different morphologies. Very small, turbid plaques are the main plaques, while other larger, more clear plaques are scattered throughout. I have performed numerous plaque purifications to be certain there is only one plaque present in my sample. |
