Discovery NotesThe soil sample was found under a tree next to Hawkins pond located on the SUNY Plattsburgh Campus. Using a plastic spoon I disturbed the compacted soil to make it easier for collection, I then continued to contain my sample in a plastic bag.
Naming NotesThe name of my phage stemmed from the whereabouts of where I found the soil. I dug around a tree which brought me to the log aspect of my naming process. This made me think about the Linking Logs I would play with as a kid.

Plaque NotesWith a direct isolation plaque assay there were no phage apparent, however once we did an enriched isolation the phage was clearly seen. There were multiple types of phage on my enriched isolation but with multiple rounds of serial dilutions and purification I was able to isolate my phage to one type.
