Discovery NotesThe soil where the phage was found was collected outside of USC's Zumberge Hall, to the left of the building beneath a tree. The area around where the phage was found was a highly-walked throughway. The soil itself was slightly damp, with some plant debris along with a slightly sandy texture. The first three inches of topsoil were collected from the sample area. The time of collection was around 12 pm on September 9th, 2021, and the ambient temperature was 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
Naming NotesI named this phage Lonelytail because when initially imaging my phage, all we could find was a long, tail and a broken capsid.
