Discovery NotesI found my soil sample near a HCA Florida University Hospital, which located adjacent to my campus. I gathered the sample on September 10th around 8:15pm, after sunset. On this day, the sky was overcast, and the ground still showed signs of earlier rainfall. Although most of the surface had dried by the evening, the air was cool and damp. The soil appeared to be mostly dry at the surface but slightly compacted from prior rain. It was collected near bushes by the main entrance of the HCA building, which is an area that is landscaped. The sample included wood chips and minimal plant debris.
Naming NotesMy name is Tamanna Dipen Shah. My parents waited ten years after their marriage to conceive me, which is why they named me Tamanna, meaning “long-lost wish.” Finding my phage was a journey full of unexpected twists and challenges, each step presenting a new obstacle. When I finally discovered it, I was overcome with joy, the room filled with pure happiness. In many ways, the phage became my own long, awaited wish.
