Naming Notes | During the Siege of Bastogne during WW2, the German commander, General von Luttwitz, sent the americans a demand for surrender. He threatened to destroy the town and everyone it if the americans did not surrender in 2 hours. General Anthony McAulifffe responded with one word: "NUTS!". The american troops were able to hold back the germans until reinforcements arrived to free them. |
