Discovery NotesThis phage was found in a soil sample taken from dry, plant-rich, chunky, clay-like soil near a steam vent and next to a building.
Naming NotesWe chose to name our phage Mcnugget for two reasons. First, we felt that the plaques looked like little nuggets, and second, our phage plates were labeled MCd, because my initials are MC and we were labeling two purifications c and d. MCd reminded us of McDonalds, so we called our phage McNugget.
