| Discovery Notes | The sample was collected from soil at 3732 Deakon Drive, Manhattan, Kansas, in September 2025. The soil was slightly moist and located near a grassy area with moderate sunlight exposure. The enrichment process showed clear plaque formation after 24 hours of incubation at 37°C, indicating successful phage isolation. The plaques appeared small and clear with well defined edges. The phage was purified through multiple rounds of isolation to ensure a uniform population before being named Ahmedphage. |
