Discovery Notes | My phage was adopted from Mugil, who collected his soil sample around the first tree in the middle of Trousdale Parkway, right in front of Zumberge Hall at USC. He collected the sample around 2:58 P.M. on August 29th, 2023. The temperature was 32.78ºC. The soil was a dark and moist with white spots and some plant content. |
Naming Notes | Mimin is a cute combination of my girlfriend and I's Korean names! |

Lysogeny Notes | My phage appeared to be a temperate phage that spent the majority of its life in the lysogenic cycle. I reached this conclusion due to the morphology, as noted above, as well as the rather limited quantity of plaques that I found in the beginning stages of my project (even at higher concentrations of phage). |
Annotating Institution | Unknown or unassigned |
Annotation Status | Not sequenced |
Plaque Notes | Plaques were very small and demonstrated an inverse relationship between size and phage concentration. To clarify, plaque size decreased with increasing concentrations of phage. The plaques also had clear centers surrounded by a turbid, cloudy ring. This morphology is known as the bullseye plaque. |
