Discovery NotesThis phage was found in January 26, 2023, in Spokane, WA, USA, on the Gonzaga University campus. It was approximately 3 degrees Celcius outside during collection. The phage was found in the soil of a nearby tree.
Naming NotesWe found Mullquarius near a tree in nearby Mulligan Field at Gonzaga University. Given the date the phage was collected in the field, the astrological sign of our phage was an Aquarius. We made a portmanteau of the words "Mulligan" and "Aquarius".
