Discovery NotesThis soil samples came from the smoking area outside of Gilbert Residence Hall on the UWA campus. That area was chosen because of the high foot traffic. The soil was dry and sandy.
Naming NotesA nerpa is the freshwater seal endemic to Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia. A group from UWA participated in field work there and loved seeing the nerpa.
