Discovery NotesThe soil was collected using a handheld shovel that had never been used. I located a shady spot alongside a tree inside of McKenna Park, Denton, Texas. The exact soil collection location is: (33.2196997, -97.16002672). From this location, I collected about ½ cup of soil. The soil was collected at 4:15 pm on August 19th, 2025. At the time of collection, the air temperature was 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The soil sample was dry, dark, warm, and clumpy.
