Discovery Notes | I collected the soil from underneath a tree on the University of Southern Mississippi’s campus. Because it was under the tree, it was in the shade. There was a lot of bushes and plants surrounding it as well. I picked up the soil from the top of the ground. I collected the soil on September 8th around 2:00 p.m. It was a sunny day that day. The soil was moist and dark in color. |
Naming Notes | My phage name is based off of Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games series. In the story he was the son of a baker, so bread also relates to him. This character is very strong and brave. My phage stayed strong throughout the whole process, so it seems like a good fit. |
