Discovery Notes | Phage discovered under the Francis Scott Key bridge, just at the shore of the small river which flows below it. The original Samp was very soggy, damp soil. Full of sediment. The sample was procured approximately 3 inches into the ground at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. |
Naming Notes | The name for this phage came from our initials. Poah sounds like "poa" which is the Swahili word for "cool", and Hope speaks Swahili. |

Plaque Notes | Upon the initial plaque assay, there was a clear gradient across each of our agar plates, our sample was extremely tiny, microscopic even, and left a bumpy surface across each plate with identifiable phage. Upon performing the purification process, it was discovered that consistently at each stage a clear gradient of the same tiny, speckled, turbid phages formed. |
