Discovery NotesA volume of 7.5mL of soil was collected from the bank of the Rideau River in Springhurst Park Ottawa on September 13th, 2023.
Genomic DNA was sequenced on a ONT Minion, R10.4.1 chemistry. The sequence assembled into one contig of 48,963bp with 91% query cover, 91.49% identity to Streptomyces Phage Endor1 with a E-value of 0.009 (NCBI).
Naming NotesThe idea for naming the phage Quackie came from the many ducks quacking and swimming in the river next to where the soil was collected.
