Naming Notes | Río Genérico means Generic River in Spanish. I used this name because I found my soil sample near the Kansas River, a relatively generic river. I thought that Río Genérico also sounded similar to Rio de Janeiro, which was play on words in Spanish (and ironic, since Rio de Janeiro is not generic), but also, Genérico contains the word "gene", which is a play on words in English. |
