Discovery NotesDirect isolation using a soil sample taken from a pile of earth that appeared to have been disturbed by wild boars in the woods. It was damp and contained dead leaves and roots.
Naming NotesWe decided to name our phage SYbell, in reference to our two first names (Salima and Yara) and Tinker Bell (the fairy) because of its small size and its beautiful lysis patterns resembling fairy dust.

Plaque NotesIndividual plaques were extremely difficult to see and plaques were best observed at very high density. Most of the time, they were only visible on half of the plate, maybe because our bench was slightly tilted. The plaques seemed opaque but their size could not be accurately measured.
