Discovery NotesThe phage had been discovered outside of the Science Center of Gettysburg college, on relatively moist soil. However, the grass that was growing above where the soil sample had been taken was yellowed and dry, implying that something was detracting from the health of the grass. The soil sample was placed inside a sterile conical tube, and used to make the initial 0 tube for experimentation.
Naming NotesSkinfaxi was the name of the Norse myth, meaning "shining mane", which served Dagr, the bringer of day.

However, "Scinfaxi" is the name of a video-game war-class submarine, which got its name from the Norse myth.
