| Discovery Notes | The phage was collected from a compost pile on the farm at UCSC. The pile was third north from the southern most pile in the N/S line of composts. The pile was named "apples to apples" and contained composting plant material with a large amount of rotting apples. The pile was moist and the daily temperature was around 70?F. ***Note: In the digest picture uploaded wells 1-7 are from a different phage. Wells 7-13 are smashbox and 14 is a 1Kb DNA ladder. |

| Plaque Notes | The morphology of Smashbox when grown on mycobacterium smegmatis is consistent very round clear plaques with a diameter of 2mm to 5mm. The most prominent size plaque is 3 to 4 mm large. The smaller and larger plaques are more rare. |
