Discovery NotesThe soil the phage was collected from was found on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. More specifically, in front of the South College sign next to the side of the library. The soil was wet and muddy so there was some grass that mixed with the soil.
Naming NotesWe selected the name “SouthCee.” This name is a play off of the rapper, CentralCee, and is inspired by the location where we found the phage, South College.
