Discovery NotesThis phage was found in generally untouched soil that was underneath snow and leaves and right next to a compost bin. It was found outside of Franklin Dining Commons.
Naming NotesThe name we chose was the Latin name, StercusIncola. This means compost dweller in English, and we chose this name because we only had one plate that successfully grew plaques on it in the beginning of our lab. Elizabeth had found this dirt next to the Franklin Dining Hall Compost Pile so we thought this name was very fitting.
