Discovery NotesThis phage is found from a soil sample collected from an orchid farm in Thailand. The sample was collected on Dec 17, 2024, at 12:43PM local time.
Temperature was 97F with 82% humidity. The soil sample was transferred to a 15mL conical tube (up to 1mL mark). 12mL of phage buffer was added to the tube and shaken vigorously. The tube was left undisturbed outdoor for 8h before filtration. The filtrate was kept at 4C before starting an enrichment.
Naming NotesI named it after my niece and nephew who live at the orchid farm house. Tawan is the girl and Tanwa is the boy. In Thai, Tanwa means December resulting in number 12 attached to Tawan.
