Discovery NotesThis phage was found next to a dorm building called Thatcher Hall at Umass Amherst.The surrounding area included a sidewalk and some small shrubbery. The soil itself was soft and not muddy, however it was also cold from the weather.
Naming NotesThe phage name YaYuMaCa came from the first two letters of each group member's name. Those first two letters were then rearranged to form a good sounding name.
