Discovery Notes | -The Phage was discovered in an location where there are plenty of foliage and plant life for a nutrient-rich environment for phage growth. -The weather was a 58 degrees Fahrenheit with cloudy skies and low wind. The surrounding environment had plenty of shrubbery with a large tree in its close proximity. The dirt condition was dry, slightly moist, and had a medium, slightly chunky consistency and cool to touch. -The soil sample was collected at 8:09am on 9/52017 with a transportation time of 15 minutes in the ziplock bag in a dark backpack to be stored in a room temperature cupboard for about 24 hours before being transported in a dark backpack to the lab on 9/6/2017 in a time span of 20 minutes. -After going through direct isolation and receiving a positive spot test result, plaque purification was carried out to isolate a singe phage and make a clonal population. |
Naming Notes | The name came from the initial and first name of the person who discovered the phage. |
