| Discovery Notes | Found in wet soil next to a building and several plants in the shade of tamarind trees. Found along with several other phages in a direct isolation. We are confident that this phage is not the same as others found from the same collection because it has behaved very differently. Webbed plates were achieved quickly and the phage produced a large amount of DNA which was not the case for other phages from the same isolation. |
| Naming Notes | The name Kuleana comes from the Hawaiian word that translates to responsibility, ownership, interest and many more. The reason why I chose this name is because those three words describes what it takes to isolate and “care” for this phage. |
