Discovery NotesThis sample was collected near the Botanic Garden at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It was collected in a grassy, dry area next to a dead bush.
Naming NotesOur bacteriophage that was isolated from the soil sample has essentially been our “baby” throughout this entire lab process since we’ve been spending weeks on this project. BabyMama also provided our group with countless plaques that we often refer to as our “little babies”, which have aided us with our research. We also just thought this name was a really funny joke between our group members. Hence, the name: BabyMama
