phage grows with various calcium chloride concentrations.Grows optimal with 5mM, 25mM and 50mM calcium chloride at room temperature and 30 degrees Celsius. Phage does not form plaques without calcium chloride or at 37 degrees Celsius. Plaques grow best with higher calcium chloride concentrations. Plaques also form with 5mM and 25mM Magnesium sulfate concentrations but, not as well as calcium chloride. |
