Naming NotesRedOctober was chosen because this phage was named in the month of October and was initially discovered in a body of water. RedOctober is the name of the Soviet nuclear sumbarine in the book, "The Hunt for Red October." The name is also fitting in that we spend weeks trying to find our phages after we have collected the initial soil samples that they are in.
