Discovery NotesThe soild sample we used came from the trunk of a large tree on the WSU campus, located near buildings and grass. The soil was dry, sandy, and had the presence of silt.
Naming NotesWe named our phage "UnderDogg" because when we first saw our plaque it was a singular plaque on our L-agar plate and our instructor was very certain this was due to contamination and not due to a phage being present, Despite all the odds the phage multiplied.
Sequencing Information
Sequencing Complete?No
Genome length (bp)Unknown
Character of genome endsUnknown
Fasta file available?No
Characterization
ClusterUnclustered
Subcluster--
Annotating InstitutionUnknown or unassigned
Annotation StatusNot sequenced
Plaque NotesWhen we preformed our first plaque assay there was only one plaque present on the L-agar plate so it was unconfirmed whether or not there was actually a phage present. Once we preformed the streak assay we had multiple plaques which confirmed a bacteriophage was present on our plaque.
