Discovery Notes | Phage was isolated from soil on the Three Rivers Trail in Pittsburgh right in front of the Carnegie Science Center. The Three River Trails runs, as one would guess, right next to the river, so the soil was very moist and teeming with bacteria, and the S. Centae phage. |
Naming Notes | This name is inspired by my nick name alluding to 50 Cent, called "Svitty Cent". This name is unique just like my phage, which has a unique morphology. I just added the "ae" to Cent to give it a nice sound, and restricted Svitty to just "S." for the sake of pronunciation. |

Plaque Notes | The S. Centae phage has a relatively unique morphology. The plaques formed vary from pin point, 0.7mm, and 1mm in diameter. Never in between, and after several plaque purifications, this morphology was concluded to be the same phage. |
