Discovery Notes | Found in a wildflower field near a nature reserve by fellow classmate Nancy Fuller. |
Naming Notes | The name Sparcetus comes from two words.
Sparse - the phage was hard to find, as there were multiple samples taken and many tests done.
Cetus - a constellation called the whale and a sea monster in greek mythology. This was included in the name as the phage was named the day after a day of heavy rainfall. |
