Discovery NotesHost-Enrichment using Arthrobacter sulfureus, Arthrobacter sp., A. atrocyaneus, and Arthrobacter globiformis. The soil sample containing the phage was incubated at 30 degrees Celsius for 15 hours with the host bacteria mixture. The mixture was then plated and incubated for 30 degrees Celsius for 48 hours to elicit plaque formation for observation.

Sample description: Moist soil
Depth from which sample was taken: 3 cm
Air temperature if sample collected outdoors: 22 C

Team #1 Members: Sarahi Jasso, Xeleste Aguilar, Ananya Sridharan, & Mallika Mathew
Naming NotesWe named it BigDome since “Dome” means head, and phages have a large head attached to a tail. We presumed our phage would have a big head.
