| Discovery Notes | Firecracker was isolated from a compost pile in the gardens of Merrill College, on the east side of the UCSC campus. The compost was dark, moist and contained a mixture of soils. The compost pile was one of many lined up parallel to an old asphalt road. The compost piles are in an area surrounded by grass and trees, and animals of all sorts frequently wander through the area. |
