| Discovery Notes | This was a dirt sample collected on August 26, 2025. It was 66°F that day, and it was cloudy with winds up to 15 mph. It was found in front of Jordan Hall at NC State. I collected just the top inch of the soil. It was in a very rocky area, so I had to move the layer of rocks to get to the soil. The soil was dry with little debris, and it was not dense. |
| Naming Notes | I was scrolling on TikTok and saw a video of a labubu getting its nails done. I liked the video and then the rest of the videos on my For You page were labubus getting their nails done. I then saw a video of a lafufu (a fake labubu), and I realized I could do a play on words and change the "f" into "ph". The 24k comes from a viral video of a woman who has the only 24k gold labubu in the world. |
