| Discovery Notes | For this direct isolation, I chose to collect my soil sample from Schenley Plaza. I picked an area of soil that was originally covered in leaves that has fallen from a nearby tree. My initial scoop of soil brought with it a worm. To me, this was a good sign that the soil had nutrients within it due to the fact that it could sustain life. I collected my sample at 10:19 PM on September 11, 2017. The temperature was 62 degrees Fahrenheit. |
