Discovery NotesThe sample was taken from under pine straw around a conservation area sign for Helen S. Ruder Preserve across from Yager Stadium.
Naming NotesOur original sample did not produce plaques, and our second sample disitegrated in a biodegradable flask during enrichment; therefore, our professor gave us a sample taken from July 2018. The sample was taken from pine straw. For this reason, our name of our phage is Lupine for the "pine" straw. Also, Leah's favorite Harry Potter chapter is Professor Lupus; this inspired our name, too.

Characterization
ClusterED
SubclusterED1
Cluster Life CycleLytic
Lysogeny NotesOur phage was most likely lytic, as the bacteria was completely lysed and the plaques were clear in the middle.

Annotating InstitutionMiami University
Annotation StatusIn GenBank
Plaque NotesThe plaque appeared to have a double ring. The small, outer ring is turbid, while the larger, inner ring is clear. The plaques all had similar morphology with defined borders. The plaque morphology and shape remained constant throughout the entire experiment.
