Discovery NotesI discovered this phage near a research building in my campus called Center for Collaborative Research. It was collected at 8:05 PM (EST) on September 10th, 2025. The soil samples used to extract the phage was taken near a tree, specifically near the tree roots. There was grass and other plants and flowers near the area. The soil was slightly damp from previous rain. The temperature was around 81 degrees Fahrenheit. It was cloudy with a light breeze and the humidity was 86%.
Naming NotesI named this phage, Charminar, after a historical landmark and mosque in Hyderabad, India. Charminar means four pillars to reflect the four main pillars of the structure. It symbolizes the city's new beginnings and the end of a plague.
