| Discovery Notes | Soil taken from a plant bed next to our lab building and was extracted 2cm from below the surface. Surface of plant bed was frozen. Soil was wet and the extraction was performed immediately. |
| Naming Notes | We chose to name this phage Strathdee in honour of Steffanie A. Strathdee, co-author of "The Perfect Predator". This book is a memoir of her family's experience when her husband was on a thin line between life and death.
This book serves as a motivational reminder of what this program is all about and what we are aiming to achieve. Through smaller steps now we can learn, we can develop, we can evolve, and we can save lives in the future.
She is our inspiration, and her story is one of many, so why not do everything we can to help? |
