| Discovery Notes | On Tuesday, August 25, 2020 a soil sample of approximately 12 milliliters was collected on a cloudless, sunny morning with a temperature of 75°.It was located approximately 1 meter from the roots of a group of green hedge bushes which lie between two small trees. The area of collection was well shaded by both the hedge bushes and the adjacent trees.The collection site prior to sample extraction was covered by a thin layer of dead leaves and small sticks. After brushing the debris away from the dig site, exposing the soil below, a plastic spoon was used to dig a hole approximately 1.5 inch in diameter and 1.5 inch deep, from which the soil sample was collected. |
| Naming Notes | The name of this phage came from a play on words for 'plaque'. Plaques can also be found in mouths and "floss" or "phloss" in our case, can be used to clean teeth of any plaques. |
