Discovery NotesThis sample was collected on January 27th, 2020. The conditions of the day were cold, with a temperature of 28*F. This sample was collected between two Pine trees out on the Minnesota State University Moorhead Campus Mall, with the sample being comprised of dirt that was collected from approximately 1 inch below the visible surface.
Naming NotesWe gratefully dedicate the name of our phage to the wonderful discoverer, Ethan Dotzler. This is the first of two samples found in relatively the same area, and it is now the youngest member of the Dotzler Family.

Plaque NotesIt was one of a few visible plaques on a series of plates, and was further isolated after collecting samples from those plaques. The Plaques were clear, and were relatively round in shape, somewhat in-between the shapes of a circle and an oval, but not quite either of the two. After further investigation, and thanks to the TEM photos received, we were able to identify this phage as a Siphoviridae.
