Discovery Notes | Chymera was isolated from a soil sample collected from Lake Ray Roberts in Sanger, Texas in late August. It was taken roughly 3 meters away from a stagnant pond located a couple hundred meters from the lake itself. It was collected a foot deep in moist ground, mid-day. The temperature of the day was in the upper seventies. |
Naming Notes | Named for the mythological Greek monster, the Chimera. Notable for its maliciousness, odd properties, and tendency to annihilate agar plates. |
