Discovery NotesThe soil sample was collected outside of the PharmTox Center at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. With Starbucks coffee in hand, the sample was taken from a planting box full of flowers and other plants and was about 2 cm deep in moist soil.
Naming NotesDating back to the olden days, people often referred to inanimate, genderless objects as "she/her" (think old ships). We have continued this in our daily loves, calling everything "she/her". When we discovered our phage, we thought it would be fitting to continue the tradition. Thus, Shee was born

Plaque NotesThe phage appears to be temperate as evident by the turbid/bullseye plaques. On plates of higher concentration, the plaques appeared small and turbid, but when they were on lower concentrations they spread out and formed bullseyes.

UPDATE: After sending Shee for sequencing, we have learned our phage is classified as lytic. Her plaques remain a mystery!
