| Discovery Notes | Found in the garden bed of the Soil and Water Laboratory at Maine. The soil was soft and well aerated. |
| Naming Notes | We were thinking about naming our phage after a constellation. While exploring available names related to stars we saw that just StarStruck was available. We liked this name and thought it would be fun to abreviate it to St^2 on tubes. |

| Plaque Notes | The plaque edges of this phage are turbid. It is incredibly aggressive and must be plated out very far to be observed. Otherwise, it easily lyses the g.terrae. When there is high competition the plaque morphology ranges from 0.1cm to 0.4cm in diameter. When there is less competition it adopts the larger morphology. |
