Discovery Notes | Soil sample collected on January 17th, 2016 from Merrick New York. The ground was frozen so we used a shovel to take soil from underneath a bush. The soil was taken from the top of the ground. Gp30 aligns with other Cluster N immunity repressors, but is truncated. For example, the Butters immunity repressor is 123 amino acids long, but Rebel Gp30 is predicted to be 96 amino acids in length with amino acids missing from the C terminal end. The function of gp30 is therefore called as "immunity repressor, truncated". Note that no integrase is annotated in the genome. it is unlikely that Rebel would form a stable lysogen. |
