Discovery NotesThe phage was discovered by Paradise Pond at Smith College, next to a large shrub a foot away from the side walk. It was discovered after a heavy rain. During discovery, it was still raining. During the time of collection, it was 69 degrees F and 92% humidity. It was collected 1 inch into the ground in an unprotected and uncovered area. The soil was wet and muddy.
Naming NotesWe named our phage Azizam, a term of endearment in Farsi. We were excited about our phage an wanted to give it a unique and meaningful name that had a significant meaning to us.
