Discovery NotesIt was found from lichen near the base of a tree about thirty feet away from a creek. It was near undeveloped hiking trails. The tree was about 2 feet thick, it was humid, and there were fungi and decomposing leaves near the bottom as well but on the ground.
Naming NotesBelthelas= Belthor + Athelas
Belthor: Elvish for Killer
Athelas: powerful herb in Lord of the Rings used by Aragorn to heal Eowyn and Faramir of the dark powers found in pure evil. It was thought to be useless until the king came and called for it.

Plaque Notes- Started out as large halo, but shrunk with time until the turbid halo was only about a twentieth of the plaque. There did not appear to be any elevation.
