Discovery NotesAmploria’s morphology under the TEM can be compared to siphoviridae (a known phage) that has a long, non-contractile tail.
Naming NotesWe named our phage Amploria because it comes from the latin root amplus which means abundant and plentiful.
It is also the root for the English word “ample” which means more than enough.
This name perfectly describes our phage because throughout the project, our phage consistently showed high plaque numbers, strong lytic activity, and high titers.
